When Apple announced the winners of the Shot on iPhone Macro Challenge, we noticed that thoughtful composition was a vital element of each image. In this competition, photographers used an iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max and composed their macro photos with principles artists have used for centuries. However, each macro photographer faced the challenge of making their photo stand out from the rest of the images the judges faced. The main prizes went to those photographers who thoughtfully arranged all the elements within their pictures to delight the viewer. Rule of Thirds
When Jirasak Panpiansin took this photo, he positioned the drop of water along the lowest line of the rule of thirds grid. Being slightly below the center of the image adds a dynamic factor and gives the eye an extra area to explore after being drawn to the jewel-like droplet.
